Our story

I’ve never been good at DIY projects.

Whenever I tried something creative, like painting or sewing. My “masterpieces” always looked like a child’s art project gone rogue. I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that maybe I just wasn’t the “crafty” type.

But then I stumbled across an idea online while planning a birthday gift for my friend——using pipe cleaners to make a birthday cake. Instantly, I felt a spark of hope. I might not be able to crochet a plushie or sculpt a masterpiece, but surely, I could twist some colorful pipe cleaners into a surprising gift.

I gave it a shot. Armed with vibrant pipe cleaners and a store-bought round box, I got to work. I glued pink pipe cleaners to the box, gadded decorations to the sides, and even made a candle on top of the box. It wasn’t perfect, but the overall effect was charming.

When I unveiled the cake at her party, my friend’s reaction was priceless. “Did you make this?!” she asked, her face lighting up with surprise and delight. For the first time, I felt like I had finally nailed a creative project.
